This beautiful Speedster Replica was built in 2012 by Vintage Speedsters for a customer in California. He moved to Florida and decided to let his toy go. I bought it from him then and sold to a guy here in Georgia and then bought it back about a couple of years later. I then sold it to a gentleman in Maine in 2017. He enjoyed the car for the past 5 years and contacted me recently to see if I would like to buy it back which of course I did. With just 4970 miles on it this Speedster is a joy to drive and is in amazing condition. I will do my best to provide enough images, a video of it starting up and running and honest description to help you decide if this is the one for you. The Aquamarine Metallic is a stunning color and was an original 356 color. The paint and body look fantastic. Body panel fit is excellent and you will be very impressed with the quality of the build and the body panel fit. Most people think this is the real deal!! Other than a few rock chips that have been touched up the body is close to flawless. All of the trim looks excellent with only minor signs of age. As you will see in the pics this Speedster Replica wears authentic looking badges and emblems.Although I hope the lucky new owner drives this sweet Speedster with the top down as much as possible, the Black Convertible top is in great condition. It also comes with window inserts, boot cover and a Full tonneau cover as well. It will also come with a custom fit car cover. This 356 Replica will be welcome at all the local car shows and cruise-ins and will attract attention wherever you go.
Complimenting the Aquamarine Metallic exterior is beautiful Wine Red interior giving it a truly vintage look. Seats are very comfortable and are in excellent condition. Matching rear seat pad for the family dog or groceries. Light Gray carpeting is also in great condition and a set of coco mats are included. super nice Nardi style woodgrain steering wheel with emblem horn button. Charging port under dash and passenger side grab handle. Functional heat with vents in footwells. Interior is also in beautiful condition!!
Very strong 1600 cc powers this 356 Speedster and is mated to a 3.88 freeway flyer transmission. Estimate horsepower at 100hp and this car gets up to speed with ease, cruises at highway speed without issue and sounds great doing it thanks to the Tri-mil dual tip exhaust. Just under 5000 miles and the motor was completely rebuilt by the prior owner in 2017 and has just 1400 miles since the rebuild. The single carburetor set up on this car performs great. Front disc brakes stop this lightweight sports car with ease. This Speedster pulls hard through all the gears and truly is a blast to drive. Front trunk is fully carpeted. Wheels and Baby moon hub caps look great and tires still have tons of life left in them. This Speedster has been very well maintained and we performed a recent tune up and oil change. Undercarriage looks great and this Speedster is Registered as a 1965 VW which is the year pan that was utilized in the build.
