For Sale: 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass in Houston, Texas

Vehicle Description

This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible is finished in black over a matching vinyl interior and is powered by a 455ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired in 2017 and underwent a refurbishment that concluded in 2018. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, 20” wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Pioneer stereo. This Cutlass Supreme convertible is offered with service records and a Texas title.

The car left the factory finished in Flame Orange and has been repainted in black with a matching soft top. Equipment includes a front spoiler, fog lights, LED tail lights, chrome trim, dual exhaust outlets, and 442 badging. The front fender wells, right rocker panels, windshield, washer pump, latches, and seals were replaced as part of the refurbishment, and the convertible top was replaced at that time.

Silver-finished 20” American Racing wheels are wrapped in Accelera tires, and stopping power is handled by four-wheel discs with red-finished Wilwood calipers up front. The front and rear brakes, booster, master cylinder, and brake lines were replaced during the refurbishment. The front bucket and rear bench seats are trimmed in black vinyl upholstery and faux wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Features include air conditioning, power windows and locks, lap belts, and a Pioneer stereo as well as floor mats and headrests embroidered with 442 logos. The air conditioning system has been converted to R134a and fitted with a Vintage Air condenser and replacement ductwork.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The 455ci V8 features a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock valve covers. Service performed as part of the refurbishment included replacing the headers, battery, alternator, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor as well as installation of a BeCool electric fan and radiator. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission, which is said to have been rebuilt, and the transmission pan has been replaced.
